Tribute to Family and Friends

Yesterday I started this new chapter of ‘blogging’.. out of te blue. And since I am at it, I might as well try to make the best of it. I mentioned some things I am passionate about yesterday. But I left out the far most important thing: Family & Friends. Family matters to me.. as do friends, there is almost no line between those two for me. My parents are the most important people in my life, the created and shaped me into the person I became. They completed my life with my sister’s birth. We both got opportunities to educate ourselves and we were brought up with morals and standards that I still carry in my ‘backpack’. One of the most important lessons my mother taught me: Never walk beside your shoes. In other words: always be true to yourself, do not try to be something or someone that you’re not. My father taught me that discipline, hard work and determination always pay off. Both my parents were hard workers, they provided for us and I am happy to be their daughter. My sister is my inspiration in so many ways, she came almost 10 years after I was born, but I would not want it any other way. And then there is the rest of the family. Aunts and uncles who are always interested, always caring, funny, simple … they are always there. Then my nieces and nephews, who are more like my sisters and brothers. True friendships started from primary school on. In addition, other sisterhood relationships grew as I grew older. Sisters from other misters as we still jokingly say (they know who they are). Sisters who always have my back, always listen, call or send me a message to ask me if I’m ok.

Then I met this guy, the one who I was ready to share the rest of my life with, because it just felt so right. And when I got married my family was extended with an extra set of parents, more wonderful and amazing people.

However, the birth of my sons, now that was the true miracle of life itself. I never knew that I was able to love this way. They are and always will be the sonshines of my life, the highlights of my days, and my purpose of being.

I think in times like these it is that we realize how important it is to have loved ones in our lives. To have people who actually know you. People who give without asking. Who are there for you no matter what.

This is a tribute to my family and friends, you complete me. Thank you for being you!

Till next time

Love, Anjani
